This is my neighbor, Beumpa (I'm not sure how to spell her name). She doesn't speak english and I don't speak Mongol... but we still have a great friendship even though we don't understand each other's language. She is so wonderful. She has no grandchildren of her own but if you saw the way she treats my kids you'd think they were hers. I love her!!
that's funny, Alicia:) and you're right, she seemed very wonderful and cared for your kids like her own...you're so lucky!
ReplyDeleteI had Taiwanese friend too (when I worked in Taiwan) and we can't communicate so well at first since I was new to the country. After continued sign language and spellings and with diligence they were able to memorize the basic words & greetings. I went back to my country not learning their language quite as good but I was happy coz I was able to teach them the basic English and we can already communicate. Imagine, they don't even know what is America? nor Bush... really sad:(
have a great Thursday to you and your family!
What a precious lady! Have a great Easter weekend!
