Daddy Loves His Girls

Bless my husband's heart, school has taken quite a toll on him this semester. On Valentines Day we hardly got to see each other. But, I must give him credit because even though his schedule was jammed packed that day he still made sure he kept the tradition of giving a single rose to each of his girls (including me.) It made our day!
That evening, I made my traditional chocolate covered strawberries and heart shaped sugar cookies for him. I ran up to campus while he was taking a test, snuck the treats into his study room and heart attacked the door.

Football Season

My oldest is really into football this season. I found some cheap tickets for him and my husband on the classifieds. So cheap... and as you can see it was the furthest row back. But he didn't care, he was just glad to be at the game! That's my boy!

After all these Friday night games of course, the boys want to practice their tackling skills.... My younger son decided to make a "helmet" out of a milk jug. It kept falling off ... just like the BYU player's helmets XD

They say it's your birthday!

My youngest had a birthday. She had fun making cupcakes with me....
She had fun with grandma and grandpa visiting....
She had fun blowing out her candles....
and opening presents....
But the most fun of all was getting kisses from daddy over skype!
Daddy comes home from his internship in less than 3 weeks WOOO HOOO! He's been gone for 5 and a half weeks. We can't wait to see him again!!

Thank you Dave and Sariah for letting me borrow your Skype. I love you guys!

What can you do with a box?

My husband likes to spend one-on-one time with the kids doing whatever they want... within reason of course :)

When it came time for my 5yr. old boy to spend time with daddy, he requested they make a rocket together. Well that might seem like a tall order for some but not when you've got a really creative dad! My husband went to work using a box cutter, a straight edge, an old diaper box and of course... a hot glue gun. My little boy used his awesome painting skills and finished it off with some dazzling red and green to make it "a rocket for Santa to ride in."

Isn't it great!!! I'm impressed!

Steady Now!

My 7yr old is a natural at composure and balance. She literally can climb the walls of our house with little effort. These are a few pics I took of M* playing with daddy before bedtime.

Homemade Piñata

My husband really wanted to make a homemade piñata with the kids. He's been talking about doing it for a long time. We ended up making it so thick it was as solid as a rock... LOL. Good times though.

Doughnut Run

My oldest son, C* saved up his money from doing three jobs and decided he wanted to buy daddy a doughnut with it... so this is the kids walking over to the neighborhood Bakery...His younger brother and sister wanted to go with C* to pick one out...C* wrote on the bag, "Happy Father's Day"... even though Father's day wasn't for one more week... he couldn't wait to get daddy a gift. Daddy was so happy to eat the yummy doughnut C* bought for him.

Making the Most of It

School for J* has kept him extremely busy. He's full time at the University and it kills him to be away from the kids so much. However he does try to give them as much time as possible on the weekends. He's really doing his best to be there for his kids. Sometimes it is so hard to find the right balance. I am so thankful it matters to him and that he does set aside time to be a Daddy.

Science Daddy

J* has always loved Science! We both have. Our very first date we visited a planetarium just for fun... (of course that was after our very romantic concert of watching Swiss Yodelling) The Planetarium is still one of our favorite places to go for fun.

So my husband thought it would be fun to do a little science experiment with the kids...
Does it look like they are having fun....
How about in this picture.... ARE WE HAVING FUN YET???

Gotta love kids! Gotta love science!
