Egg and an Ant

My oldest daughter made a humpty dumpty egg.  I love the band aide.. nice touch!

In school she has been learning about ants .  She's always loved bugs and can spend hours studying them.  When she got home from school she made this ant farm out of sculpey.

What do you see?

My oldest son loves... no wait not loves... obsesses over football!  We gave him some magnet toys to give him  variety to his free time.  Can you see the shape he made?

Paper, Strings and Sculpey Things

Put my son in a room full of paper, markers, tape, strings and sculpey and he would be in HEAVEN!! This is what he would do all day & all night long if he didn't have to stop to eat and sleep.

Sculpey

My youngest son's new favorite thing is Sculpey. He's showing me his snowplow he made. This stuff keeps him busy for hours. Plus it's very affordable. Love it!

Snowman

This is a snowman my kids built all by themselves. I love what they did with his hair!

Favorite Things

Old duck feathers, empty egg shells, Styrofoam plates, paint and strings....
these are a few of his favorite things.

My 2nd boy loves to make stuff out of whatever he can find.
He does it all on his own without any help from me. He's so innovative. I love it!

3 Little Bakers or Little Mess Makers?

As I was taking care of a few things on the computer, I could hear some chattering along with the clanging of dishes in the kitchen. I could hear my kids speaking in fake English accents and the sound of water running in the sink. I peeked around the corner and asked what they were up to. "We're chefs!", they replied. "Oh how wonderful" I said sarcastically, as I felt the crunch of spilled dry cereal underneath my feet. I lifted up my shoe to brush it off and couldn't help notice the evidence everywhere of their "chefness". Several bowls of water were sloshed on the table swirlled with salt, pepper, paprika, cinnamon, sugar and rice crispies. "Yum!" I said. "Looks like you guys have been busy. How long do you guys plan on being 'chefs' this morning?"

What can you do with a box?

My husband likes to spend one-on-one time with the kids doing whatever they want... within reason of course :)

When it came time for my 5yr. old boy to spend time with daddy, he requested they make a rocket together. Well that might seem like a tall order for some but not when you've got a really creative dad! My husband went to work using a box cutter, a straight edge, an old diaper box and of course... a hot glue gun. My little boy used his awesome painting skills and finished it off with some dazzling red and green to make it "a rocket for Santa to ride in."

Isn't it great!!! I'm impressed!

Edward Scissor-hands

We call our 5yr. old "Edward Scissor-hands." His FAVORITE thing to do is make and cut with scissors. He made "gallows" out of paper and wanted me to take a picture of him .

This is a monster he made.

Bread for Sale!

My 5yr. old wanted to sit on the corner and sell crumbs of bread, I knew that it wasn't the ideal marketable item but who am I to dash his dreams? I let him make a sign and package the bread crumbs into baggies. He sat on the corner waiting so patiently...
...believe it or not, he did make a sale! Yep. I was his first and only customer.
Honestly, how could anyone resist a face like this? Sure he'd be happy to sell you bread but this boy is PRICELESS!

I took him inside and gave him some ice cream for all his hard work :)

Ordinary Things

Yes that is a leaf on the back of his head and holding it in place is a large rubber band. This is my 5yr. old pretending he's an Indian.... and that leaf is supposed to be a "feather." This must be a more modern "bow and arrow" this young Indian is using :)

Pretending to be pirates! AAAAARRRGGGG!!

Dress Up

These two are always playing "dress up". Here they have made their own crowns and jewelry out of paper and are using a pillow case and blanket for a royal robe.

Paper People

My 6 yr. old and 4yr. old made this little paper person all by themselves. They played all day with it like it was a brand new toy. Who needs money to have fun??

Homemade Piñata

My husband really wanted to make a homemade piñata with the kids. He's been talking about doing it for a long time. We ended up making it so thick it was as solid as a rock... LOL. Good times though.
