Boy Meets Girl

My 8yr. old daughter made a series of drawings about a boy who sees a girl from afar working on her laptop. He is smitten by her and moves in closer. The girl is annoyed and obviously not interested.

Fat Lady....

My 8yr. old daughter drew this picture of a fat lady. She giggled while explaining the drawing to me...

"it shows how the lady grew so big that her legs got weak and wobbly. Finally they gave out completely until she fell over and couldn't stand up anymore."

Wild Ride

My five year old boy drew this picture of a wild roller coaster ride. I love the hands in the air! I love to keep the pictures my kids draw and maybe I'm a little excessive. But they don't stay children for long and I figure I'd rather have too many memories of their childhood than not enough.

First thing in the morning...

My 5 yr. old pinned these up on my wall next to my bed so I could constantly admire is artistic ability.
You see in the cross section of the house the different levels:

Level 1: (left) someone watching T.V. flipping stations with the remote
(right) one kid is getting ready to raid the fridge!

Level 2: (left) couple kids doing karate practice
(right) someone folding clothes... most likely the mom because I don't think kids can process how to fold clothes.... or at least I have been successful in teaching mine.

Level 3: (left) someone really short trying to reach the bathroom sink to wash their hands...
(center) some sort of ladder in the middle of the house... hey, why do we even have stairs when ladders are so much more fun right? I just want a house with a slide!
(right) I think this is a picture of someone sitting on something... I'm not sure if that's related to the bathroom sink over to the left and that's actually a toilet? If that's the case... it's an awkward place for a ladder... don't you think? I mean, I like a little more privacy than that.

Level 4: (or the attic)... the funnest thing in the world to do is jump on the bed! and what a better place for it than in the highest room of the house!

My son also pinned up an alarm clock for me next to his drawing of the lovely house. This is to help me wake up in the morning.... It's perfect because that is my kind of alarm clock ... one that doesn't make a sound :D

Edward Scissor-hands

We call our 5yr. old "Edward Scissor-hands." His FAVORITE thing to do is make and cut with scissors. He made "gallows" out of paper and wanted me to take a picture of him .

This is a monster he made.

Speed Skating with Cougars??

During the Olympics this year my 8yr. old son really got into the speed skating. He is also into big cats. So why not combine the two? He drew this picture of speed skaters and some heroic cougars that rescue a fallen olympian. The owner of the cougars is cheering in the stands.
He explains the drawing to me....
"see the different speed skaters ..."
"This guy in front was trying to cheat... he's the one who tripped the skater that fell... see he has a mean look on his face."

"See the cougars helping the guy who was tripped... I promise mommy, the cats are not eating the olympian they are helping him back up."
"... this is the guy who owns the cougars... he's cheering them on."

Paper People

My 6 yr. old and 4yr. old made this little paper person all by themselves. They played all day with it like it was a brand new toy. Who needs money to have fun??

Pictionary

I was quizzing my son on his spelling test and he wanted to draw pictures for each word. Some of these are hilarious!!
Hole: (this is a picture of a guy throwing a rock into a deep hole which then causes the earth to shake terribly and trigger a volcano eruption.) .....who would have thought.

I love this one!!
"tip toe"

The glare makes it hard to see but this word is "dough". He drew picture of himself rolling cookie dough and humming a song.

Sailboat: I like the "land ho" in the word bubble.

People who play with FIRE!

This disturbing picture was drawn by C* (my oldest son who is 7)

As you can see it's a picture of hot lava and volcanoes...

Can you guess what is happening to the people??... You are right, they are on fire!

I asked my son who these people were... he said, "Duh mom, they are volcanologists."

I should have known.... duh.

Family Picture... almost

MJ drew this picture of the family. From left to right: C*(trying to walk with purple legs on him), Mommy, Daddy, MJ (he said he's wearing red superman underwear), M* (when she was a baby w/ a diaper on her.)

MJ just turned 4.

Epic Novelist

M* wrote this book and illustrated it all by herself. She has over 20 books like this that she has written. It's no surprise that her kindergarten class awarded her as the "Epic Novelist." I really wouldn't be surprised if she is someday!
Who do you know?

Swiggle, doogle dot
(this is what 'writer's block' looks like to a kindergartner)

The sun is hot, hot, hot. mmmm Try the carmel roasted!
(this is a picture of carmel in a river of lava)

I want to eat some of those blueberries.

Those look so yummy! (these are jelly beans)
Who made those? I think Star Song did. (Star Song is the name of her 'my little pony')

It's a dark, hot night. (she threw in a couple of stencils here.)

Look at that shooting star! Ouch! it burned me.

C*'s Been Doodling

This kid CRACKS ME UP!!!!
Here is a picture C* drew of a homemade volcano... see the "huge box of baking soda" is being poured and then the "gallon of vinegar."

This is a picture C* drew of "Neal Armstrong's Wind Tunnel"....According to C* "These are two of the same scene... Neal Armstrong has just invented the wind tunnel when his mom walks in the room and it blows her coat off and knocks her over!"

According to C*.... "This is a picture of Teacher's having a party in the Teachers Lounge...They are all laughing, one teacher is standing on a chair doubled over because she's laughing so hard. There is a sink in the Teacher's Lounge with some half eaten gallons of ice cream next to it and there are cakes on the tables. There are children just outside the Lounge daring each other to enter and reading the sign that says 'Staff Only.'"
